I am pursuing my electrical engineering degree, and I want to spend my holidays by doing research work. Please suggest some interesting topic or if anyone can provide me any type of online research intern, then that would be much better for me .

I suggest visiting some websites from some big and well known research groups and see what they are doing. What do you find most interesting? I am not sure I am well known, but you can start with my site:

For image processing, consider something in computer vision. In electromagnetics, metamaterials is a huge and interesting area.

For BS, think of a topic or tool that you will need for research that will follow your BS degree. For example, if you want to develop a metamaterial based antenna, consider doing just one of the following:
1. Design and test an ordinary antenna that is close to your eventual metamaterial antenna.
2. Learn an EM modeling software package.
3. Develop your own modeling code that you will use to simulate and design your eventual device.
Of course, if your topic is not this, just consider what small step can you take now that is reasonable to accomplish that will also help you with your following research.
