This will be directly related to your research question. Sometimes it's hard to be specific at first, but once you know the question you want to answer, it will be easier to help. You might find your research question is best answered using quantitative methodology; it just depends on what you want to know. You might start by giving operational definitions to your variables.
I conceptualize the two constructs thus:
I know Dekker et al. (2013) used vignettes to measure achievement goal orientations. But the vignettes are just a reworking on Elliot & McGregor (2001) AGQ scale which eventually yielded quantitative data.
Is there a suggestion of a tool that could counter check the data obtained through the AGQ and Was & Isaacson (2008) AIM? Or would thinking of triangulation for these constructs be an effort in futility?
Based on your research question and design, you might do better constructing your own structured or semi- structured interview. That way, you can have questions that fit your operational defitions.
