Empowerment Granted empowerment based on the idea that giving employees skills, resources, authority, opportunity, motivation, as well holding them responsible and accountable for outcomes of their actions, will contribute to their competence and satisfaction to a degree. Yet, this approach is often not but veneer. eg. John Smith is a very successful CEO of a major company living in affluence . Yet, is unable to speak to large crowds. John is tormented by a misperceived construct of others thoughts and perceptions of his thoughts and stance in business and life. In order to find true empowerment. John needs to come to terms with the fact that others have an inalienable right to their own thoughts and opinions. More so that it is not John's responsibility to carry others thoughts or opinions which dictate his ability or lack there of to engage large audiences. This is true “empowerment”. Granted John may not like or agree with an other's thoughts or opinions but that is another story
