goal is to replace lightweight aggregate as a patial replacement of natural coarse aggregate at a various percentage say 10 % ..if i substitute on weight basis lightweight aggregate occupies more volume compared to natural coarse..how can i resolve this ?

You can convert the weight to volume using the apparent bulk density. It is a traditional procedure used when we don’t have a “balance apparatus” on site.

The easiest thing to do is to multiply the mass of aggregate in the original mix by the ratio of the relative density of the lightweight over the relative density of the normal aggregate.
The two basic mixture equations on the basis of absolute volumes (not the bulk volumes) of the constituents, the aggregates being in saturated surface dry (ssd) moisture content condition, are
Sum of the masses of constituents per unit volume is equal to the mass of unit volume (1 m3) of concrete (Eq. 1)
Sum of the volumes of constituents is equal to unit volume (1 m3) (Eq. 2)
If the mass of the ssd normal aggregate to be replaced is NAGrep, and its ssd particle density is d, then its volume is nagrep = NAGrep/dNAG, which is to be taken as the volume of the lightweight aggregate to replace it, and therefore, the mass LWAG of lightweight aggregate having ssd particle density of dLWAG, to replace the normal aggregate is LWAG = NAGrep*(dLWAG/dNAG).
