In plants retrotransposon have insertioned in many genes naturally. I would like to know the examples where the gene got new functions,alternative splicing, etc as the case in PNAS article "An alternative polyadenylation mechanism coopted to the Arabidopsis RPP7 gene through intronic retrotransposon domestication". Please give more examples if there are any...

Thanks Olga..these articles are mainly discussing mutation in a gene(s) or in general about transposons in plants. My interest is in a phenotype or gene change & taking new functions.
