As a scientists, sometimes we need to make posters for some presentations. Can somebody give relevant recommendations and references, how to make good poster? And how perform a good poster presentation?
Have a look at http://colinpurrington.com/tips/poster-design, http://ii.library.jhu.edu/2014/01/28/creative-student-assignments-poster-projects/ and http://www.nature.com/naturejobs/science/articles/10.1038%2Fnj7387-113a?WT.ec_id=NATUREjobs-20120301.
In my view, a good scientific poster should include all necessary material and construction that any scientist follow in a presentation, paper, or thesis work i.e. Introduction, aim, method, results, conclusion, future work and references. However, it is entirely depending on what you think is important to illustrate or deliver the message of your achieved work. Enclosed is an example on a poster presented last year to the CLFs Xmas meeting event.
A good poster must be attractive scientifically. To commence with, it should very concisely and vividly illustrate the synopsis of your work. That means it should be organized in a logical manner displaying the data synthesis, analysis and interpretation very clearly. Also, it must highlight the novelty in your work and findings. Tables, figures and graphs must be simple and easy to understand. Conclusions must be clearly derived from the knowledge displayed in the poster in just 2-3 points and should be very clear.
There are a wealth of sources that give advice on 'poster compilation' (hit Google ;-) ). Also the posts above give some good advice.
To make it 'your own', think specifically about what you want to tell people, how you can show them the main points of your work, and how you will attract their attention in the first place. If yours is simply 1 of 100s (or 1000s) of other 'IMRAD' posters, then how will you get noticed?

The various works have lots of poster references & discussions on compilation & presentation.
Effective research posters should be designed around two or three key findings with accompanying handouts and narrative description to supply additional technical detail and encourage dialog with poster viewers...

Science communicator Bruce Kirchoff outlines three ways to ensure that your presentations are engaging and convey the importance of your research to a wide audience. State your main finding in your title, use repeated problems and solutions to create a story, and use the word ‘but’ for dramatic effect, he says...
