I am currently working on identification of tree species in Tropical Savanna ecosystem and will require Lidar data to aid classification and identification of the tree species.

But my best advise would be to search Google Scholar with "lidar data in sub-sahara Africa" and then to try to get in touch with the authors of the papers that are already dealing with lidar in Sub-Sahara Africa in your field. Most of them will certainly be willing to help you or even to collaborate with you on your project.

Well, definitely Africa is not a continent with too many LIDAR data sets.
