I am working with a robotics company at the moment and am surprised at how little robots can actually do compared to humans. But their narrow range of competence can be applied to basic processing.

For instance, robots can have artificial intelligence programs which interact in natural spoken language as we also experience with Apple Siri, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa; and like C3PO in Star Wars this can be done in multiple languages. This is already being trialled in the banking sector for resolution of customer queries. Robots are also good at processing basic and predictable transactions.

Great discussion point. I would say there is a huge advancement in Robotics arm and it could eventually bring a huge effects on the banking. One thing we have to note is that there is always a need for human despite whatever technology we are using. Human involvement will be less required but will not totally replace.
