I have 7 multiplexed assays with 3 primers each that have been tagged with 6-FAM, HEX and TET. According to the Applied Biosystems website these dyes can only be read if the machine is calibrated with setup DS-34 and using TAMRA as a standard ladder in an ABI3500. However, I've been suggested that these can also be read using LIZ 500 in an ABI3730. Does any of you have any experience using these dyes and what ABI machine is most recommended?
