Today we have reliable online courses which have tie-ups with reputed universities. And they make sure that a particular topic is taught with audio-visuals, learning aids etc.
In my opinion, class room or learning any topic with fellow mates adds different dimension which online courses cannot replace. To me, education is not just learning about a particular topic but also learn/unlearn something in the surrounding atmosphere which may not be part of curriculum.
Hi Geetha, Yes I agreee. Online courses can give you a degree or certificate but I think it is never the real replacement of traditional class-based learning approach. Sitting in a class and interacting with classmates has no replacement.

Learning only on-line? No, although is important and for many people the only way. Learning only face-to-face? Not necessarily, although for me it is fundamental. The personal relations, the direct conversations between teachers and students, are already a mode of learning.

Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.
My vote would go for the blended education model.
There are numerous articles which states that students who were part of a blended education model performed better than those who were exclusively one or the other.
Blended education combines the intimacy and face-to-face interaction of a physical classroom with the flexibility and convenience of an online one.Schools like the blended model because it provides students with cutting-edge artificially intelligent tutoring software while allowing instructors flexibility in planning their syllabuses. Students appreciate the blended model because it offers a reprieve from dusty textbooks and mundane human lectures.
It’s clear there are many options for earning your degree. At the end of the day final decision is always what the student wants to learn and how he wishes to learn it.
Lets not under estimate the value of online learning. Although as we said above traditional classroom based teaching and learning approaches are considered better due to certain reasons. However, online courses have their benefits and that's why many students are using this approach to get their degrees online.
Online course could be for those students who have no time to attend regular classes because they are working or have family responsibilities. Online courses are relatively cheaper so for those who cannot afford traditional education. Dont have means to travel and so on. There could be many more advantages which should be ignored.

Blended learning is a student-centered approach to creating a learning experience whereby the learner interacts with other students, with the instructor, and with content through thoughtful integration of online and face-to-face environments.

Well, each group has a learning method. I, myself, can not think of a traditional teaching/learning method anymore. I like to learn at my own pace and have a lot of exposition to the topic which a traditional setting would not allow.
