I have a large number of training data, collected for vegetation analysis in a region using spot 5 imagery for year 2014. SPOT 5 is deprecated and can no longer be used.
The data is polygons of diverse vegetation collected during numerous surveys through out the region of interest.
Can there be anyway of using the same data with modern satellites like Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2?
Do you want to compare your in situ data with other satellite imagery rather than SPOT 5?
Can you provide the date of you in situ date and required spatial resolution so that I can suggest some alternatives?
You can use same ground truth data if those regions have not been changed by time.

Elif Sertel I really appreciate your suggestion. Actually the data comprise of different vegetation field polygons (Shapefiles). The data is of 2014, so there can be no way verify the presence of same polygons in the surveyed regions.
You can check with GoogleEarth data. Sometimes, high resolution multi-temporal images are available . If you are lucky, you might have 2014 and 2020 images to cross check validity of your ground truth for 2020.
Generally transformation can be made to reduce quality of images but not to improve. For instance, u can transform satellite images of a specific radiometric and spatial resolution into a different resolution. But the transformation cannot improve the quality of the image. For instance, u can transform 20m resolution image to 30m. But u can not do the reverse.
Also you cannot transform an image of lower spectral resolution to a higher one but you can also do the reverse.

Spot 5 having 8 bit resolution can be converted to 12 bit using AI modeling.
Secondly tye spatial resolution needs to be reduced from 2.5 to 10m.
U can use spatio-temporal fusion for remote sensing data. E.g. STARFM model.

You can utilize the training samples for the analysis samples either from satellite image or in situ data, however, the accuracy still a concern and it will depend on your sampling and satellite data period ( if you have collected the data one year before and you are doing analysis with latest image, the there will be a problem with accuracy as land use practices are changing day by day. ) so you have to think about it. but the same time you can utilize the samples for the analysis o the same period but different satellite image.
since your training points collected for the year 2014, you can do analysis for the year 2014. and sentinel data is not available for the period therefore, it is not possible
