Can Mars orbit Earth? Answer: Yes. A series of events, if they exist, could cause Mars and Earth to orbit each other as a binary planet. The Sun has ten rings. Earth and Mars orbit the Sun together in the second ring. Some of the events that would cause Mars and Earth to orbit each other include:1- First the Moon must be separated from the Earth's orbit. This happens when the Sun's core undergoes a major shock for some reason. 2- When the Moon separates from the ring that includes Earth and Mars, the Earth's core becomes extremely hot.
