Can literary/artistic imagination be a base for arguing a scientific/cognitive nature in art; that is, a humanities and sciences linkage?

To promote interdisciplinary sciences-humanities research, I am thinking of the close relation between classical moral and natural philosophies before both branched into disciplines within faculties for sciences and others for social sciences.
