I would like to build a small, but somewhat nationally representative sample of graduate students in social work and nursing for an online survey. Will I be able to do so using Amazon's Mechanical Turk? (MTurk), or is the specificity of this recruitment criterion too narrow?
Also, is there a way to verify, such as requiring participants to upload their university registration status or transcript?

Almost anybody may accomplish activities on the Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) website using their own talents and on their own time. Must accomplish jobs and receive payment from Requesters, all you need is an Internet-connected computer device and to be at least 18 years old.
At one-tenth the expense of standard approaches, researchers can collect data from large enough samples to achieve considerable statistical power. The MTurk population is more representative of the general population than other online surveys and yields more accurate findings.
To begin a survey using MTurk, a researcher (referred to as a "Requester" in Amazon's parlance) creates an account (http://www.mturk.com), deposits funds into her account, and then posts a "job listing" using the MTurk Web interface that describes the Human Intelligence Task (HIT) to be completed and the compensation to be received.
