I am working on a project with the latest version of Nvivo that expires in 14 days. Now, I want to get activated key with Nvivo 12 Plus (which sounds like a different version to me) after the trial version expires. Will I still get my work back as I perceived the interface of the versions might be different from each other?
Yes, if you have saved the NVivo project on your computer. Normally it auto saves the NVivo projects in every 15 minutes. In the case that you did not save it at all, there may be a chance that you lose your data. Updated version in NVivo usually ask you to reopen the project in new version and convert it into new version file.

Projects from newer major versions of NVivo cannot be opened in older major versions (e.g. projects created in NVivo release 1.3 can be opened in NVivo release 1.0, but not in NVivo version 12—the previous major version) like in my own case. So, for example, if you are trialing NVivo (Release 1) you can open a version 12 project in it but any changes you make cannot be saved to open in NVivo version 12.
Ys, check in your documents folder and then open the saved file with the new version of Nvivo. Otherwise, if you have the license, you can also contact the customer service.
