We are applying high voltage (~600 VDC) at 700 degrees C to a system where fused quartz is being used as an electric insulator. However, our instruments are detecting a current of ~100 uA and we don't know exactly where this current is coming from. Quartz is a piezoelectric material so we were wondering if this could explain the observed phenomenon.
