I think the best and biggest debate would be to let AI take decisions that are not previously set by men. Just as we are, biologically configured to survive, our 'machine' and all our organs understand that they must survive at all costs. Therefore, understanding that this would be the most appropriate direction of AI discussion, the point where man will not interfere in AI's self-sustaining programming. So we will only understand it, if we let it create for itself and for itself. I remember the films Bicentennial Man and Automata and the discussion of creating and improving himself. But the notion they demonstrate of robots is the mimicking of what happens with human biology, surviving, being part of, procreating and creating / re-creating. I believe that this is a discussion that we only base on what we understand by humanity and robot, not extrapolating to new possibilities and understandings of being and existing beyond our worldly understanding. The AI ​​is not our brain, it is not human being and it does not think for the logic that we think. But there is our problem as well, how to let it define itself if we are not going to understand it, because we are not AI, we are biological, or as they say in Star Trek, we are the solid. Let AI be AI and add an interpretation algorithm to the human notion / logic of thinking, so it will create its own definition and break with the hegemonic paradigm of its primary construction.

Cabe a nós ditar suposições, mas, creio que ela mesma vai se construir dentro do seu habitat e nomear a si mesma.O que existe hoje na humanidade é uma pseudo inteligencia artificial, pois o que seria artificial ainda é comandada por códigos humanos, adaptados não fora da programação do fator e entendimento humano. Creio que o melhor e maior debate seria deixar a AI tomar decisões que não sejam previamente configuradas pelos homens. Assim como somos nós, configurados biologicamente para sobreviver, nossa 'máquina' e todos nossos órgãos entendem que devem sobreviver a todo o custo. Logo, compreendendo que esta seria a direção mais apropriada da discussão da AI, o ponto onde o homem não vai interferir na programação de autossustentação da AI. Assim, só vamos entendê-la, se a deixarmos criar por si mesma e a si mesma. Lembro dos filmes Homem Bicentenário e Automata e a discussão do criar e melhorar a si mesmo. Mas a noção que demonstram dos robôs são a mimetização do que ocorre com a biologia humana, sobreviver, fazer parte, procriar e criar/recriar. Creio que esta é uma discussão que baseamos somente no que nós entendemos por humanidade e robô, não extrapolando para novas possibilidades e entendimentos de ser e existir além da nossa compreensão mundana. A AI não é o nosso cérebro, não é ser humano e não pensa pela lógica que pensamos. Mas aí está nosso problema também, como deixar que ela se defina se não a vamos entender, pois não somos AI, somos biológicos, ou como dizem no Star Trek, somos os sólidos. Deve-se, portanto, deixar a AI ser a AI e acrescentar um algoritmo de interpretação pela noção/lógica humana de pensar, assim ela criará sua própria definição e romper com o paradigma hegemônico de sua construção primária."

Here are my 2 cents based on the initial question. Talking about Computational Intelligence, you might call it AI, today we are far away from intelligent systems which are able to "walk alone". The community is (again) in a critical phase.

We have designed Watson, we are able to play chess and GO, win Jeopardy, we play around with Deep Learning, etc. etc. Is this what AI should be? No, all this "brakethroughs" are wonderful. However, they are based on some clever algorithms, statistics, databank management and multiprocessor systems / farms. Is this intelligent? Again No! This is only "Horsepower". All these systems are able to do ONE thing (e.g. GO). Are they able to solve other tasks? No!

Intelligence in an human context is able to adapt within an complex context which was never detected before. Is this community so far? No!

My personal state of mind from today is that AI is in an embryo state. Let's see what will happen tomorrow.....
