In my work, the Emergent Cartography of Consciousness, I postulate that consciousness arises as an emergent phenomenon from the dynamic and nonlinear interaction of five functional pillars: memory, thought, emotion, perception, and integrated corporeality. This "lived form" is not reducible to mere information computation; it implies a subjective texture and self-awareness that is deeply anchored in biological and embodied dynamics.

Therefore, while Artificial Intelligence can simulate and even surpass cognitive intelligence in many tasks, the question of whether it can "unite intelligence and the conscious self" to generate phenomenological self-awareness is a formidable challenge. From my perspective, human consciousness is intrinsically linked to its biological substrate, to the integration of psychophysiological processes, and to the experience of the body itself elements that current AI does not possess in the same way. Equating computation with lived experience would be, in my judgment, incurring epistemic reductionism.

Regarding the possibility of achieving a "spiritual soul," I believe my model focuses on consciousness from a scientific and empirically accessible perspective. The notion of "spiritual soul" transcends the boundaries of current neuroscience and psychology, delving into philosophical and theological spheres that are beyond the scope of my theoretical framework. Nevertheless, a deeper understanding of the emergence of consciousness could inform the debate on these broader questions.

This dialogue is crucial for defining what kind of science we want to build: one that classifies symptoms or one that understands lives.
