In terms of packet loss and quality of service analysis.....OPNET is a best choice. Because in OPNET u will get dofferent QoS models for IP network.
Opnet is the best tool, I personally would suggest for VOIP.
if "packet loss and quality" are the KPI used, OPNET QOS models will help better.
OMNeT++4.3 and inet 2.0 are recommended, as there are many example i for VOIP in the inet2.0. its an open source, which mean you can modify existing protocols toward your design.
Dear Priya C, Use OPNET simulator under Windows XP as a platform, the OPNET instructions can be used to define the topology structure of the network.
Under NS2, the voice over IP is possible due to a patch that must be addedafter installing NS2.
