I need to map functions, relationships, feedbacks of a complex social-ecological system in a village community scale. Can anybody suggest what open source tool can be use to map and analyse the such dynamics related to multiple actors in different time scales. Thanks

I don´t have answer for that. But I consider GIS to be necessary tools. I also consider that all results should be spacially explicit (not only with mind maps but with real maps).

Maybe with a NetLogo is a multi-agent programmable modeling environment... is free and relatively easy to use: https://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/

You can use ArcGIS as it is open source. Also, you can use R or Jupiter notebook for different mappings.

We have used Vensim ( https://vensim.com/ ) to do socio-ecological systems mapping. It is free and can be used at various levels from simply mapping to defining relationships and simulation modelling.
Thanks guys. I think I will use diagrams.net/ to start in sketchy mode and 'Vensim' can use for modleing and analysis as a final stage.
