Phosphorus is critical input in agriculture and to manufacture P fertilizers several countries have limited rock phosphate reserves. One alternative is to recover P from sewage waters and solid waste in big cities. In countries like India current municipal sewage systems are not equipped with facilities to recover P. if this facility is provided it helps to not only to recover P but can increase the income of mucipality and provide source of P to crops.
