Can anyone suggest a sufficient amount of thermomechanical load for post endodontic restorations?
Zur Simulation einer 5-jährigen Verweildauer im Mund --- in-vitro- Versuch
in 6000 Wechselzyklen für je 2 Minuten von 5° C bzw. 55° C
Warum so lange Intervalle - 2 Minuten? Wären nicht ca. 30 s ausreichend?

I think it is according to the material of the post. The fiber post or the metal post has different strength and pressure.

In the literature there is no consensus on the protocol for thermo-mechanical fatigue testing of restored teeth. particularly for the mechanical loading; some authors will simulate the 5 year function with over million Cycles. For thermal testing most studies used the protocol of 5000 cycles at 5C˚ and 55C˚ ( see the review by Gale et al in the Journal of Dentistry) which particularly questions the relevance of thermal cycling any way in fracture testing, a finding which has been highlighted again in Taha et al 2011 . Furthermore its worth mentioning that for the sake of comparison between materials you may proceed with testing without Thermomechanical cycling, or follow a stepped fatigue protocol which is more practical (Taha et al 2014 in Operative Dentistry).
