The reaction should take place between a chloroalkane and trialkyl(or triaryl)phosphine to exclusively form its corresponding phosphonium salt. The reaction should be fast, should occur at room temperature and it should be quantitative in nature. It should occur with the minimal (and preferably) no formation of (elimination or isomerization) by products.

Dear Dr Gupta I thank you for the suggestion. But I need a single step method that does not involve moisture sensitive intermediates.
Take trialkyl phosphine treat it with methyl bromide & stirr it well to get phosphonium salt. ref-Wittig reaction procedure . Ohosphine will act as an electron donor & alkyl bromide as an acceptor.
I thank you for your reply. Bromides are more reactive than chlorides hence this reaction is very facile. I need a method of converting alkyl chlorides and triphenylphosphine to the corresponding phosphonium salt. the reaction should take place quantitatively within 30 min at room temperature.
