Mapping is an approach to visualise the sources of literature the reviewer wants to dig. It depends how reviewer plan to target the resources, visualise it and through that mapping gather articles. e.g. a researcher/reviewer may start from listing the good journals in the specific domain and then proceed by choosing articles from those.
