Can anyone recommend information about the UV absorption of metal complexes?

I synthesized a complex starting from a natural flavonoid and I need to know the amount of the free metal in the complex. For that, the best way for me is UV but I need some information about this subject.

experimentally, if you know the concentration of the metal ion(as the salt of the metal) that you used for complexation, then you can run AAS analysis to ascertain the concentration of the metal ion remaining. Also you can use a rough calculation by employing Lavoisior law of conservation of energy but the oxidation state of the metal and its possible geometry must be known.
