I need data related to soil thickness, regolith thickness, overburden thickness or depth to bedrock. This includes data points and maps from soil survey or geology (such as water well, surficial geology map,drill cuttings). The areas are South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. The scales at the national or province are preferred.
I don't know how to solve your problem, but I am concerned on this question too. hope you good luck that there are someone can provide some information.

I am a little confused about the definition of Saprolitic layer. It is not very clear, and you seemed like to define it by excluding the Regolitic layer, Paralithic layer and Lithic layer. People may misuse Saprolitic layer with Regolitic layer?

I am wstill working on it (paper is ongoing), and I need reflexion an critics of partners. After the publication I hope to enhance a working group on this.
Name are not fixed, for the moment Regolitic layer represent recent sediment (mainly quaternary) , made of previous soil material, rocks, till etc...regolitic layer is seprated from the below material (either saprolitic, paralithic or lithic by a "lithic discountinuity")
Saprolitic is "in situ". Geneticaly linked to the lithic layer.
