Tractor and farm equipment maker John Deere India had implemented PPP venture with Gujarat Government to increase productivity of farmers through supply of tractors and farm equipment. Under the Gujarat PPP model, the State Government would have to buy tractors with a set of farm equipment from the company, which will be provided to self-help groups consisting of tribal farmers. Deere will train and provide support to the farmers through a network of Agriculture Implement Resource centers to be set up by the company, while farmers will only have to bear the operating and maintenance costs of the equipment.

In France you have The Poles of Competitivity implemented by Government since 2006. They are trying to increase innovation efficiency by considering geographical proximity between research centres, regional small industrial businesses and training centres. If these poles aim at creating units of worldwide scale by leaning on the existing leading firms, they have to acknowledge the contribution of small and medium sized businesses as far as innovation is concerned.
