I have tried to purify my cyanoacrylate compound by vacuum distillation, but the product has polymerised before it was collected as a distilled fraction. The double bond in my cyanoacrylate material is unsubstitued and therefore prone to polymerisation. I'm afraid it might polymerise on the column but I'm willing to give it a go with acidified solvent. Also if anyone could suggest any other alternative purification methods, that would be much appreciated!

Dear Mili Campion, distillation is the standard procedure to purify cyanoacrylates monomers. Being highly polar monomers with a high sensitivity to moisture make thé column chromatographe a very délicate option. I am thinking of solvent extraction but I could not find any exemple after literature search. So, I think either you should adjust the distillation conditions or try extraction. In this later case you may need the following documents. My Regards

I guess you can try the distillation in presence of inhibitor (Polymarization inhiboitor). That may give to you pure monomer and that will avoid polymarization.
How can I remove water and toluene from cyanoacrylate viscose solution (that is contain oligomers of cyanoacrylate) ?
