Can anyone point me to articles which discuss the application of specific date restrictions on systematic review seraches and justifications for this?

I'm involved in a number of reviews and date range frequently comes up as an issue, since it is a way of restricting returns and potentially increasing accuracy of results provided there is good reason but different people seem to have different views. i'm wondering if there is much literature on this regarding particular strategies and implications of them.
