I am working on a research project "effect of performance appraisal system on employee motivation in Colleges and Universities". Please I need some suggestions in adopting questionnaire for measuring Performance Appraisal System.

You can use ' Employee Survey' as one of the approaches which is most widely used. In this study you can design a survey to measure the following aspects :
1.Employee development such as:
I have many opportunities to learn new things
I am continuously learning and trying to improve myself
The Company uses a systematic process for identifying employee development needs and implementing solutions
Support for Development
Employees are continually developed through training, education, and opportunities for promotion
Employees are encouraged to seek professional development
Employee Development is seen as a key to success rather than a cost to the Company
Mentorship
My Supervisor coaches me to help me develop professionally
Senior managers mentor junior employees
2. Feedback system in the organisation pertaining to supervisor
I am given clear instructions and objectives.
I am treated fairly by my supervisor.
I receive mentoring and coaching from my superior.
Giving Feedback
I am comfortable giving feedback to others.
Seeking Feedback
I receive adequate feedback and guidance.
3.Management Accountability
Managers establish responsibility and accountability among employees
The managers involve us in decisions affecting our work

The management at the Company has a good understand of my work environment and processes
The Company encourages employees to work to the best of their abilities
The Company is able to maximize employee potential
My job enables me to make use of my skills and abilities
I get a sense of personal accomplishment from my work
I know how the Company measures its performance
and other parameters such as promotion policy, work-life balance
Mu university using self-evaluation of faculty which contains teaching, scientific research activities ( including the number of projects, number of published papers in ISI journals ) and administrative work.
