Can anyone tell me what this is? I am assuming it is a pollen or spore of some sort. They are cropping up in faceal floatations from two different species in our zoo. My thinking is that it is potentially a specific tree or plant that is in that area and no where else in the park. I have seen them periodically over the years and would really like to identify what it is from. This is taken on 10x lens on the microscope, which is unfortunately the highest you can go when using a McMasters slide.

if you mean the two-cells bulb-like structure in the middle this is for sure no Chlorophytes pollen or spores.
It might be a spore-like structure from a fungus, or perhaps some algae ?

Il parait qu’il s’agit de débris de silice d’origine végétale qu’on appelle les phytolithes. Ce sont des Formes variées de concrétion de silice trouvées dans des plantes.
C’est une hypothèse. Tu peux affiner la recherche sur cette voie, peut être tu auras des éléments de réponses.
