We have in our arboretum an unknown Pinus species (see two pictures in the attachment). It is a tall, straight tree of ca. 15 meters (although still quite young). It was labeled as Pinus densiflora… but this is must be wrong, since our taxon has bundles of 5 needles. Do you know a specialist who could help us in identifying this species?

It would be useful to have some measurements of the needles and cone, as well as anatomy of the needles.
For the anatomy, I suspect this is one of the Pinus section Strobus, since it does not seem to fit any of the five-needle Pinus section Pinus, but it would be better to be sure. Measurements of needle length and cone length could be sufficient though.
We have got several detailed answers: the species was identified as Pinus armandii (China).

Gregor Kozlowski It is a Pinus armandii, the Chinese Armand pine, although it has an appearance to Pinus gerardiana, it would be identified by looking at the morphological and anatomical characteristics of the species. The Pinus armadii, is an arboreal species of the Pinaceae family. It is native to China, occurring in southern Shanxi west of southern Gansu and southern Yunnan, with external populations in Anhui and Taiwan; it also extends a short distance into northern Burma.
