Please suggest solubilisation of chlorobutanol in injections. Tried pH and high temperature. But the issue is of assay drop. If anyone can suggest any solution. Its a commonly used excipient for injections and opthamic.
Change in pH will not help since chlorobutanol is neutral. Its solubility in water is defined by temperature/presence of salts etc. The solubility will somewhat increase at higher temperature but the dissolved alcohol will precipitate out on reaching room temperature. If it is allowed, you can make a stock solution in ethanol and then add appropriate volume to aqueous solution. Sonication in a sonicator bath would help.
