This is a model of the porous metal obtained. The meshing quality is low for it to be accurate enough to be used in CFD.Almost 26M mesh is available on this 1.0x 1.0x 1.4 (cm) sample. Thank you in advance.
I do not know which program you are using, but you have two general approaches for refining meshes:
1) Refine the whole mesh - either devide the current element if the program allows it, or remesh the whole thing to a state that would satisfy you.
2) Refine the critical areas - that way your computational time will reduce, though you will have more prepwork.
Also, if you are using ANSYS or similar program, you can use smart mesh, which refines itself throughout the analysis, so that you get the best results.
Thank you for the answer added. I am currently using demo of 3rd party software SIMPLEWARE to model and mesh the respective model. The method currently used are based on parameters and setting available in the software. This mesh is automatically generated.
I have previously tried to model the porous sample through CATIA, but as SIMPLEWARE imports .STL file, the surface reconstruction and mesh creation is very hard and meshing and modelling for .STL information obtained through websites and forums are not helping much either.
The meshing above are only a region of interest(ROI) or a portion of the whole sample.I am currently trying to understand the ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian) method above .
Do I need to upload the .STL file of the sample as reference? Thanks in advance.
