I'll be having different doses for my test organisms but how can I choose the right amount/dosage for each group? Is there any protocol available?
Dear Joan
It is depending upon your expt, you have to design protocol and dose from 0.1mg to 5000gm, its totly depending upon lethality of doses (LD50) will finalize the dose level.
Thank you sir. Sir if may I add in my question, in determining a change in a specific host like rat,is 1 week observation is enough?
No at least you have to observe 15 days trial for any kind of test in rat......! that is acute study.....!
Dear Joan, what kind of molecole or substance you want to supplement rats? and in which way? oral dietary? injection?
With these information, maybe we can help you.
Hello Joan. I suggest searching for the term "dose-finding study". OECD testing protocols may also be s good resource. cheers, Matthias
