Depend on process, if u use a mechanical milling to get ur nanoparticles, there'll be a strain u have to consider... cleary look at this publication: "Whole powder pattern modelling" P. Scardi and M. Leoni. Acta Cryst. (2002). A58, 190–200
I am using mechanical milling. Changes in surface area, will make changes in volume. I like to know, whether the changes in volume, will make changes in density and mass? or not?
Change in surface area wont change the volume as well as the mass. But the lattice parameters and density will change due to dislocation as milling time. Of course change in volume will change your density, not the mass.
