You may get reliable information by Particle Size Analyser/ Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) analysis. This instrument will give you entire information of particle size distribution, average size, information about polydispersity index (PDI value -indicating whether your particles are monodispersed or not) as well as zeta potential values ( which will indicate the stability of your particle). We find that Beckman DelsaNano C, USA was very reliable instrument for the purpose.
I think you try to get first Crystalite size from P-XRD data by using Sherer formula. If you find it interesting then go for DLS analysis. From Uv-vis you can know that the band broadening confirms decreased particle size.
