it is depends upon area of your algorithm.suppose data mining improve time measurement from existing paper also my recommendation choose your base paper like IEEE,Springer,Elsevier etc.because very strong base for your proposed work. suppose your research area image processing PSNR,MSE and time or cryptography improve crypt analysis....
