Electron bubble (an electron/ positron occupying a self created spherical cavity in liquid Helium-4 or Helium-3) is an interesting real physical system which closely represents a quantum particle trapped in a spherical cavity. I am interested to know other such systems. I would appreciate your help in providing such examples.
Yes, atoms confined inside of fullerenes - C60 and others - , labeled as A@Cn atoms, are good examples for your interest. Very many atoms from the periodic system have been trapped inside fullerenes, see, e.g., a review paper by Shinohara - Endohedral Metalloullerenes - Rep. Prog. Phys. 63, 843 (2000). In particular, N@C60 was proposed to be a good "building block" for building the quantum computer register, see, e.g., Harneit, PRA 65 032322 (2002). There has been much research done theoretically and experimentally on A@C60 photoionization, including a recent experimental verification by Kilcoyne et.al. PRL 105, 213005 (2010) of "confinement" resonances predicted earlier theoretically in A@C60 systems. The review on the subject of theoretical studies of A@C60 photoionization can be found, e.g., in the work by Dolmatov - Photoionization of atoms encaged in spherical fullerenes - Advances in Quantum Chemistry, 58, 13-68 (2009) and refs. therein.

This indicates that several of these systems can provide additional experimental observations in support to the wave mechanics of a particle trapped in a spherical shell of impenetrable walls depending on the extent to which these systems represent such a particle. In this context it may noted that: (i) our analysis of the wave mechanics of a particle trapped in a spherical shell of impenetrable walls reveals that the correct energy eigen values should be 1/4 times lower than what we have been learning from different graduate text, and (ii) two different experimental observations provide unequivocal support to our conclusion.
