I conducted a mixed-design ANCOVA to test the effectiveness of a trauma intervention (mobile app + video call). My final sample:

  • Group 1: 27 (Video Call + App)
  • Group 2: 32 (App Only)
  • Group 3: 31 (Control)

Issue: Levene’s test was significant in the post-test (p = 0.007), but not at follow-ups (p > 0.5). Box’s M test was also significant (p = 0.001), and Mauchly’s test showed a violation (p = 0.020). I tried log and square root transformations, but they didn’t resolve the issue.

Can I still report ANCOVA despite this Levene violation? If so, what adjustments should I consider?

I’d appreciate insights, especially from researchers working with small clinical samples, mixed-design ANCOVA, and trauma studies.
