It would be nice from you that you define the relation between the communication symbols and numerology??

This is the first time that I hear from such vocabulary in electrical communication systems.

What I know is the different symbols resulting after modulating the binary data.

There are binary symbol where every symbol contains either binary 0 or 1.

There is the the 2-bit symbol representing values from 00,10,01 and 11.

There is 3-bit symbol which has 8 states.

and so on.

This method of M-ary symbols help control the number of bit hertz.

And one can send more data in the same bandwidth by using higher order modulation.

It is known that every channel condition or S/N ratio can allow specific symbols.

If it mean symbols then yes one can control the order of modulation of the symbol.

I just reach my conclusion on this question. Though I am not sure if this is true, I would like to share my understanding here.

The numerology is a term introduced in 5G that allows different subcarrier spacing and symbol length for a resource block (RB). An RB with numerology-0 has similar definition as in LTE, which has 12 subcarriers with subcarrier spacing of 180kHz in the frequency domain, and 14 symbols in the duration of 1ms in the time domain.

For an RB with numerology-1, it has 12 subcarriers with subcarrier spacing of 360kHz and 14 symbols in the duration of 0.5ms.

Now for my question, a short answer is that a UE should apply CA in order to transmit and receive with RBs of different numerology at a given point of time, as Himani Mittal

The reason is described as below:

First of all, 3GPP specifies that "UE can be configured with maximum 4 BWP for Downlink and Uplink but at a given point of time only one BWP is active for downlink and one for uplink." This is mentioned in https://www.techplayon.com/5g-nr-bandwidth-part-bwp/

that "supportedSubcarrierSpacingDL : Defines the supported sub-carrier spacing for DL by the UE indicating the UE supports simultaeous reception with same or different numerologies in CA."

As a result, we can conclude that CA is required to transmit/receive RBs with BWP of different numerology at a time and one antenna/transmitter/receiver should be configured with a particular numerology.

The second question in my original post is that "Can a single antenna deal with multiple signals with different modulations at a given point of time?"

This has been answered by Abdelhalim abdelnaby Zekry . If my understanding is correct, it is OK for an antenna to deal with multiple data streams with different modulation (from different sources and thus different SNR values) at the same time.

Thank you very much for your useful information. It shows how one forms different OFDM at the same time.

So, if one has to use ofdm symbol formats at the same time which octuply the same bandwidth then one gas to separate the two sets of symbols from each other by space diversity. Which means using a MIMO system.

However, if you use different ofdm symbol formats a differnt time then it is possible to use the same antenna. This means you can send Numerology 0 and then -1 or vice verse or you can transmit any sequence.

Is that right?
