Should Bland-Altman plot be used to compare semi-quantitative methods?

Bland-Altman is primarily a descriptive technique, although it does use a one-sample t-test to test zero bias, and limits of agreement based on the standard deviation. Whether or not it is suitable therefore depends on whether you can justifiably treat the measure as a continuuus variable.
