I would estimate that the detail provided by aerial LiDAR properly understood, utilized and applied would be the superior tool to delineate and map vegetation heights and densities, and minute details that could be useful to agroforestry. Unfortunately, the tools to evaluate biomass levels of all combinations of agricultural plants, vegetation and trees from LiDAR may need some ground truthing. If you or others have the experience to capture the LiDAR detail and understand what the remote indicators mean, it can be very useful as a delineation and quantification tool. It’s suitability may depend on the available expertise.
