I'm looking for an academic book on entrepreneurship (up to date) to teach to undergrad students. A book that covers important topics, engaging and fun.
I've taught courses on Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management for 18 years and used several fine frequently updated textbooks that are engaging and cover important topics, such as Entrepreneurial Small Business by Katz and Green (McGraw-Hill publishing), Small Business Management: Launching & Growing Entrepreneurial Ventures by Longenecker (Cengage). Another book to consider is Entrepreneurship: Successfully Launching New Ventures by Barringer and Ireland (Pearson). There are others too by the major publishers. Good luck in your book selection.
I writing to inform you that I read an interesting book about your topic.
It is Teaching Entrepreneurship: Cases for Education and Training (Contributions to Management Science) by van der, Peter Sijde, Annemarie Ridder, Gerben Blaauw, Christoph Diensberg , published by Physica-Verlag Heidelberg.
Abstract of book: This book offers various examples of teaching and learning entrepreneurship in academia. Readers gain insight into the real work and experience of entrepreneurship educators from universities and business schools across Europe, especially from Northern Europe. The practice-oriented case studies also highlight the differences, sometimes country-dependent contexts of teaching and the challenges for entrepreneurship education and promotion. Moreover, different solutions for the problems entrepreneurship educators face in providing effective learning environments are demonstrated. Thus, the case studies are also an inspiring textbook and teaching material.
