Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction in corrosion?

Good day. I have read your research (8 Monitoring of stress corrosion...). Figs. 8.4 & 8.5 look like a Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction. I have obtained same data on 304 in acidic media with some inhibitors. Do you have some explanation about this phenomena?
