You may be aware of the application for Geographical information tag to Basmati rice by India to European Union (EU). Since Basmati rice is traditionally grown, sold, and consumed in Nepal and Pakistan since ancient times, both Nepal and Pakistan have submitted opposition letters to the EU. To further collect more support and evidence of origin and cultivation of Basmati rice in Nepal since ancient time, we request you all to provide any evidences, documentary, stories, anecdotes, folk-lore, video clip, poem, etc in support of its origin and cultivation, social and cultural values in Nepalese communities, and so on.
