Do you know about any publicly available dataset(s) that allow to study bank-firm lending relationship? Ideally, the dataset(s) should contain information about which bank lend money to which company, and also some company and bank characteristics.
A time intensive solution is to see if any of the papers to cite have posted their data sets on the authors websites. This has become a more common practice, especially at high-ranking journals. Both to encourage reproducibility and citations.
Mehmed, I believe that Bankscope (btw, now replaced by orbis bank focus) contain information only about banks and does not provide information about loans to individual companies. Or am I wrong?
It is true , but try to get more advance package of Bank scope services .... they are so familiar with this business and may be offered a new package of financial information
