How is it possible for a PhD candidate to avoid self plagiarism in his/her thesis, provided that the student already published papers or plan to publish from that same PhD research before writing the thesis? If he/she goes ahead, to develop the published papers into thesis, is that plagiarism?
Presentation of earlier ideas to subsequent academic writings is self plagiarism. As you called how to avoid the self plagiarism in the next academic and research writings is possible by use of paraphrasing (Changing words sequence). As far your question is related to doctoral research findings and publication of same findings to the journal in the form of papers is not self plagiarism because publication of PhD works in any of the peer review journal is a prerequisite both are interlinked and part and parcel of doctoral research can not separated.
