Hi all,

I read an article a few years ago where somebody analyzed the snow behind snow fences. The idea was that the fences don't only trap snow, but also everything else that's suspended in the air, such as soil and plant particles. If the particles could result in input of nutrients to the snow fence plots, that could lead to artifacts or confounding factors in certain measured responses.

Do you know which article this is? I can't find it anywhere and would be thankful if you could help me out.

But since I'm asking: what other artifacts caused by snow fences could you imagine?

Cheers,

Phil
