I keep hearing complaints from people that use Excel, e.g. for exchanging data with colleagues or for adding supplementary tables to their publications. Let's face it, Excel does have some drawbacks in the context of research. For example, try typing in some standard gene names, like OCT8, and see what happens ;-) Do you like using Excel for you research and if not, what are you using instead if you want to exchange/publish data?

I think that every researcher knows better what software want use ! If you d not like Excel you can use Open Office or Libre Office. It is the same program , makes also equations and so on !

Microsoft Excel is very good by itself.
But if you learnt macros, you can do miracles with it.
